In March of 2020, due to the COVID-19 virus and the ensuing chaos that it caused from individuals preparing to shelter in place indefinitely, consumers began to experience severe shortages of a number of products at the grocery store. Toilet paper was one of the most noticeable items that stores were unable to keep stocked, but the problem expanded to a number of other items including hand sanitizer, meat, eggs, milk, canned foods, yeast, flower, and other staples. Items began disappearing at an alarming rate as store shelves were wiped clean at many of the nation’s top retailers, including Walmart, Target, and others.
As state governors issued stay at home orders, non-essential businesses temporarily closed their doors for business, and citizens were advised to only visit the grocery store once a week, the difficulty of sourcing needed items at the grocery store became a glaring issue. Individuals who wished to only venture out on an as-needed basis were realizing that many high-demand items were not currently in stock, which meant they had to go back to the store several times (and stand in long lines) in order to check whether a needed item had arrived.
It Arrived was born amidst the worldwide Coronavirus pandemic, and was created in part to help prevent the spread of disease. It afforded individuals the convenience of fewer trips to the grocery store, and helped stores to communicate with their customers as items were restocked.
The founder of our It Arrived was a previous grocery store manager in Provo, Utah over 10 years ago during his college years. With the COVID-19 outbreak, mass gatherings had been made illegal, and the revenues for all of his current website businesses all relating to sporting events suffered a dramatic drop. After a series of layoffs, instead of continuing to do more layoffs, the founder decided to create a new website and app that hailed back to his roots in the grocery business. The idea of It Arrived was born, an app that grocery stores can use to alert customers in real time when in-demand products arrive at local stores, so that individuals know when they should shop, instead of venturing out on multiple wasted trips.
The app and website continue to improve daily with new features to make it even easier to get the products you need in a timely and safe manner.
We look forward to helping you get the products you need at a store near you. Feel free to reach out to us with any feedback you have regarding the software, and our mission to make your shopping safer and easier.
